At MRN, we’ve been identifying and retaining medical experts for peer reviews since 1993. In order to find the most qualified medical expert, we start by looking at the specifics of each peer review matter.
We then turn to our database of more than 3,300 medical experts. Certainly, we’ll find medical experts who are qualified to review cases in their specialty, but we’ll also look for sub-specialties and/or specialized skills that match those of the physician being peer reviewed. In addition, we’ll choose someone who has experience in similar practice settings and has the same (or higher) level of expertise as the physician being reviewed.
All of the peer reviewers we work with are board-certified, in active clinical practice, and independent of MRN. Once the expert physician has completed the peer review, our legal nurse consultants will interview the physician and create a report of their findings that conforms with the varying state statutes for peer reviews.
