Mindy Houston leads consulting operations at Medical Resource Network. Mindy brings 34 years of nursing experience and over 20 years of legal nurse consulting — including 7 years working in-house at two defense law firms, where she handled case analysis, expert witness preparation, deposition preparation, and trial support across personal injury, medical malpractice, and the full range of cases with medical issues at stake.
That in-house experience is central to how Mindy approaches consulting work. She knows what attorneys need when records arrive, what’s missing from medical summaries, how expert opinions get built and tested, and what information can be central to the case — because she did that work from inside the firm.
Mindy’s clinical background spans surgical and trauma ICU, medical-surgical and orthopedic care, home care, hospice, and forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Over the past 12 years, her practice has concentrated on long-term care — clinical practice, leadership, and compliance. Mindy spent 14 years with a long-term care company, culminating as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, where she managed litigation, regulatory matters, and compliance programs alongside clinical operations and quality improvement.
Mindy actively serves as a nursing expert witness, with extensive experience in long-term care cases, matters involving abuse and sexual assault, and administrative proceedings. At MRN, Mindy oversees consulting operations with a focus on quality management, team development, and operational workflow, while also working directly with clients on complex matters.
